What Territory Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Direct Sales is responsible for driving sales and services to new and/or existing customers through face-to-face or telephone contact to meet individual and organizational sales objectives.

Territory Management is responsible for cold calling, prospecting and building relationships that will increase account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within a specified product line, business segment and/or geography. Focus areas will include driving new business as well as increasing penetration in existing accounts.

Job Summary

The Territory Consultant is responsible for managing a large territory with the direct objective to increase account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within the laboratory business segment.

Focus areas will include driving new business, providing optimal service, targeting Cardinal brand conversion opportunities and growth across the lab products portfolio. This individual will take the lead role in delivering complex broad-based portfolios of solutions that meet customer needs and builds and sustains relationships with key IDNs.

Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Cardinal Health and customer industry, including: key competitors, terminology, technology, trends, challenges, group purchasing organizations; demonstrates working knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings match with a customers' unique business needs.

Initiates and takes ownership of principles of territory management, including: account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation processes, deal economics
 

Responsibilities

Applies knowledge of the customer's business and laboratory products portfolio to present solutions that improve lab workflow efficiency, test accuracy and patient outcomes.Lead business reviews, identify savings opportunities, and proactively maintain regular cadence within the laboratory and supply chain departments to demonstrate the ongoing value of Cardinal Health distribution Effectively negotiates and collaborates with the customer, supplier partners and internal constituents to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes and achieve consensus Builds and sustains relationships founded on trust with internal and external customers and ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty. Identifies and qualifies new sales opportunities and develops plans for introducing new solutions through collaborative relationships with manufacturers and diagnostic instrument specialists Responsible for ensuring optimal service levels in the management of custom inventory programs, product availability, pricing and contract administration and maintenance. Maintain a robust pipeline across the laboratory products and diagnostic instrumentation portfolios.


Qualifications

Minimum 2-5 years sales experienceBachelor's degree, preferredAbility to travel & good driving recordLives within the managed territory (lives within 30 minutes of city where largest prime vendors are located)Functional understanding of Laboratory workflow and processExperience working in complex sales environments with demonstrated successSuccessful negotiation, strategic planning, and organizational skillsEntrepreneurial spirit, strong business acumen, and a desire to conquer complex sales processesExperience working with Microsoft applications (excel) and aptitude to use various business tools (i.e. salesforce).
