What Health Physics/Radiation Safety contributes to Cardinal Health
Radiation Safety manages programs to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments. This function implements the corporate radiation safety program, policies and procedures at the site level. Additionally, this function responds to incidents and investigates root causes, implements training and corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence of problems, and conducts internal site audits as needed.

Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Quality Compliance applies subject matter expertise to provide services in technical writing and Radioactive Materials license submissions as well as ensures that safety programs and compliance activities are implemented throughout the organization by maintaining documents and databases pertaining to corporate Health Physics functions. This role will also ensure that NPHS license fees are tracked and paid in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Routinely authoring RAM licensing submissions including but not limited to renewal applications, amendment requests, and responses to requests for additional information from regulators. Clarity, accuracy, and timeliness are key.Maintaining invoicing tasks for RAM license fees, to include anticipating and tracking license fee invoices across our 200+ licenses and registrations, as well as ensuring all license fees are paid in a timely manner.Liaise with regulators regarding licensing actions and fee payments.Prepare reports and documentation packages for NPHS management, including but not limited to the Corporate Radiation Safety Committee documentation packages and annual program reviews.Assist in maintaining dosimetry program by reviewing data and trends to keep employee exposures as low as reasonably possible.Provide assistance and prompt response to questions or concerns from operations employees.Under manager’s general supervision, conduct training on licensing and related activities. Document licensing processes. Generate reference guides.Back-up and assist others in the HPG.Ensuring compliance with NRC, Agreement State, and DOT regulations as well as conditions of NPHS radioactive material licenses.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred2 or more years of experience preferred, ideally in Health Physics or regulatory fieldMust have excellent communication skills, both written and verbalMust have strong writing skills for authoring, editing, proofing, revising, and organizing documents.Tech savvy: in addition to normal office software, need to be comfortable with generating and editing large Word documents, able to track and trend data in Excel, and use group mailboxes in Outlook.

Work Environment

The work environment is generally within a professional office environment. Infrequent travel to nuclear pharmacy or manufacturing locations required for training and general business purposes, which includes entry into production, product preparation, laboratory, and shipping areas. Infrequent travel to meet with regulators and/or attend company meetings.

Anticipated salary range: $55,400 - $79,200
