What Software Asset Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

IT Asset Management is responsible for governing the license management for IT hardware and software assets. 

Responsibilities

  • Educate IT solution and product owners on proper asset management compliance practices and enforce roles/responsibilities.
  • Apply best practices and controls to effectively manage the lifecycle (purchase, deploy, harvest) of software products.
  • Maintains controls and governs best practices of software policies and procedures.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities of Flexera One to perform varied tasks and projects.
  • Provides data driven insights from Flexera One and software analysis to highlight opportunities to increase efficiency, optimize cost, and reduce risk.
  • Proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of Solution Owners, Product Owners, technical leads, leadership, and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with software asset management team and internal partners on operational and continuous improvement efforts, with a focus on driving automation of end-to-end solutions.
  • Partner with IT product teams to identify non-usage of software installations within the infrastructure and perform software removals as needed.
  • Assists in software audit activities with accurate reporting and timely deliverables.
  • Partners with external suppliers, business clients and internal IT solution owners.
  • Applies technical knowledge for developing indirect and direct connections in Flexera One.
  • Specializes in Microsoft licensing and other tier 1 and 2 software products to execute renewals and integration efforts.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
5+ years’ experience in software asset management, preferred2+ years’ experience in Flexera One ITAM or other software asset management tool, preferred2+ years’ of license management and compliance experience of Microsoft, Adobe, Axure and other heavily utilized desktop software products, preferredDemonstrated knowledge of software asset management lifecycle, methodologies, and best practicesExperience with implementing indirect and direction connections in Flexera One and supporting FlexeraOne from a technical perspectiveExperience with SQL, PowerShell, and ingestion tools preferredDemonstrates the ability to work on complex projects of large scope with the ability to apply critical thinking and long-term vision to develop optimal solutions.Experience working with indirect procurement, repairs and maintenance, and solution owners to ensure maintenance contracts are renewed in a timely fashion.Experience with applying key license terms and conditions to maximize opportunities to drive rightsizing opportunities required.Demonstrated ability to generate savings reports with high dollar value.2+ years’ experience generating ServiceNow reports utilizing the asset module.Proficient in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.).Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow queue management.

Anticipated salary range: $65,500 - $98,175
