Cardinal Health Sonexus™ Access and Patient Support empowers pharmaceutical manufacturers by integrating innovative distribution models with patient access and adherence programs and reimbursement services. Patients start therapy faster and stay compliant longer, while manufacturers own their provider relationships and gain actionable, real-time visibility into how, when, and why their products are used.  

As a Senior Product Manager, you will define, communicate, and own the delivery of the vision and strategy for the assigned products and solutions that solve access problems for Patients, optimize the end to end user experience across digital and non-digital touchpoints, maximize value to Pharma customers, and create meaningful and sustainable differentiation for Sonexus.

You will play a critical role in leveraging technology to drive business growth, scalability and speed for Sonexus, delivering product enhancements and new products and services continuously through a modern Product Management operating model.  The successful candidate will execute these duties via close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Business Development, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Legal/Compliance.

The role reports to the Director of Product for the Specialty Biopharma Solutions segment, with dedicated accountability to the Sonexus business unit and leadership. You will be part of a growing team of Product Managers, UX researchers and designers, and Technology teams who share your passion for helping Patients and driving transformational healthcare solutions.  This position requires deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in healthcare, including patient access, and the needs and opportunities of our Pharma customers.  As such, it requires strong professional presence, communication, and decision-making skills, business and technical acumen, and an unwavering passion for improving the healthcare journey for patients.


Strategy Development

  • Define and communicate vision and strategy for the assigned products and solutions
  • Lead the matrixed team of Technology and UX partners accountable for delivery of defined and aligned business results for assigned products
  • Gain deep understanding of customer needs and opportunities, the Pharma and patient access market, and competitive and partner landscape to inform and influence strategy development and prioritization
  • Engage regularly with customers and users through formal research and ongoing business interactions
  • Collaborate with Business and Technology leaders to develop both short- and long-term roadmaps that help Sonexus become and maintain market leadership
  • Champion product vision and strategy with leaders and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and support development of pricing strategy in alignment with financial targets and in collaboration with Business leadership, Finance, and other stakeholder teams
  • Identify and qualify opportunities to drive incremental value through new products and product enhancements, capabilities, and services that lead to deeper and more durable customer relationships and enhance and differentiate Sonexus’ market position
  • Define and refine product business models to drive increasingly sustainable margin-enhancing impact for Sonexus
  • Build and communicate business cases, when needed, to support prioritization and investment

    Strategy Execution and Delivery

    • Lead roadmap prioritization in concert with Technology and Business leaders – weighing desirability / feasibility / viability risks, user/customer value, business value and impact, dependencies, market opportunities, and required investment/capacity
    • Develop and communicate product metrics and OKRs (objectives and key results) that measure progress and delivery of business outcomes
    • Lead product discovery activities in collaboration with Technology, Product, and UX teams to validate problems and potential solutions
    • Partner with Technology teams to drive delivery and related communication, reporting regularly on progress and business impact
      • Partner with Technology teams to ensure ongoing prioritization of infrastructure improvements and elimination of technical debt
        • Lead the design and execution of pilots and trials for new products and capabilities, when applicable
        • Find product / market fit for new products and recommend timing and strategies for scale
        • Consult with internal stakeholders and external partners to support buy/build recommendations as needed
        • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Business Development to drive product positioning, branding, and go to market activities for new products, enhancements, capabilities, and services. 
        • Co-lead operational rollout of new products and capabilities with Technology, Operations, and Implementation functions - including facilitating training and communication, and ensuring support models and ongoing maintenance plans are in place.
        • Coach and mentor developing Product Managers as appropriate. Actively support and champion the Product Transformation for Sonexus, contributing to a strong product and “one team” culture and operating model across the organization

        • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred. Advanced degree a plus.
        • 5+ years of experience as a product manager and/or product leader, with emphasis on commercial digital/technology-enabled products that drive top line business results, ideally in a B2B or B2B2C context
        • Experience in healthcare, healthcare technology, or related fields (such as HUB services, market access, pharmaceutical brand management, data & technology, reimbursement or health insurance, pharmacy) is a strong plus
        • Strong matrix-leadership skills; the ability to lead matrixed teams without direct authority
        • Demonstrated success in growing, retaining, and delighting users and customers while delivering business results through multiple managed products or portfolios
        • Proven experience with complex technical solutions and modern software development practices, including Agile, Design Thinking, Lean Principles
        • Strong understanding of data and analytics and the ability to independently construct analyses that inform and measure adoption and usage of the product and the impact of product strategy
        • Familiarity and experience with applying user research and UX/design principles in partnership with the UX/Design function
        • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills; executive presence and the ability to influence without authority
        • Strong business acumen across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to strategy, marketing, operations, and finance
        • Ability to develop and effectively communicate strategic recommendations and business cases
        • Ability to travel as needed - up to 25% of time

          A Covid-19 vaccination is required in order to be employed in this position. This includes either:

        • 2 doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine

        Anticipated salary range: $86,000-$158,300
