Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering and documentation practices.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Senior Software Engineer is to lead efforts to design, develop, test and refine new electromechanical medical devices for Cardinal Health. Specifically, this job assists in software creation and improvements to devices such as enteral feeding pumps, thermometers and compression devices, among others. A significant amount of time of this job is spent working in an embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS). As part of working in a cross functional technical environment, this job requires coordination with manufacturers, business partners and vendors, worldwide to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

Debug C code in an embedded RTOS environment for medical devices.Test and document anomalies in development software vs. defined objectives.Develop and write test plans for existing software.Develop and write new functions and capabilities in C code in an embedded RTOS environment.Participate in code reviews of existing code changes.Participate in design reviews for future development.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in related field highly preferredA minimum of 2 years related work experience preferredAbility to work independently and as a member of a team
