Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Methodist Medical center, and we are currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Intern to work as needed covering vacation/PTO. The facility is open 24/7, but we would be looking for someone with flexibility to work either 7:30AM-3:30PM or 3PM-11:30PM.

Pharmacy interns must act in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the facility. Supportive personnel work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a licensed pharmacist.  Intern will assist the pharmacist in providing quality pharmaceutical care to all patients by performing certain technical duties in the pharmacy department.

Accountabilities

Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasksDemonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibilitymaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issuesMay assist in recommendation of processes on new assignmentsAdheres to all quality guidelinesWorks with limited supervision. Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisorMay provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy and/or have a Student License as provided by the State. Flexibility to work various shiftsAbility to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionalsStrong customer service skills.
