Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, and we are currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Intern to work weekends and occasional weekdays if availability permits. This is an inpatient hospital setting, with no IV room. The facility is open Monday through Friday 8AM to 4:30PM and weekends and holidays 10AM to 2:30PM.
Pharmacy interns must act in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the facility. Supportive personnel work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a licensed pharmacist. Intern will assist the pharmacist in providing quality pharmaceutical care to all patients by performing certain technical duties in the pharmacy department.

Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasksDemonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibilitymaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issuesMay assist in recommendation of processes on new assignmentsAdheres to all quality guidelinesWorks with limited supervision. Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisorMay provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team membersQualifications
Must be enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy and/or have a Student License as provided by the state of California. Flexibility to work various shiftsAbility to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionalsStrong customer service skills.May require vendor credentialingWhat is expected of you and others at this level
Applies working knowledge in the application of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks
Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity
Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve
Applies judgment within defined parameters
Receives general guidance may receive more detailed instruction on new projects
Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy
Anticipated hourly range: $20.90 per hour - $27 per hour
