What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health

The Manager, Warehouse Operations Inbound/ Outbound oversees the building’s inbound processing, including receiving, put away, and returns to achieve operational efficiency and safety. Through successful operational and people management, this job delivers on the business unit’s short-term goals, improves profitability, and develops the business unit’s warehouse talent. This job also responds to urgent customer needs or supply disruptions to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct a Supervisory team of three direct reports and around ninety indirect associates that includes inbound and outbound operationsEnsure the timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting the distribution center standards of budget, policies, procedures and qualityLead initiatives designed to improve processes or continuous improvement projects throughout the facilityProvide leadership to the team and challenge the status quo; interact with employees on the floor and in an office settingInterface with customers and suppliers to resolve issues and participate in regularly scheduled meetings (this may include travel up to 25%)Collaborate with cross functional teams at all levels within the organization, specifically within HR groups on a daily basisCultivate positive relationships with peers and coworkersInterview and make hiring decisions for supervisor, lead and niche rolesDevelop the supervisory and employee population, which includes training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisalsManage the distribution operation utilizing appropriate systems to track, analyze and improve day to day operational metricsHold Supervisors accountable for their respective department KPI’sEnforce Cardinal Health compliance and regulations for OSHA, DEA, FDA, state and local authorities, primary facility contact for QRA complianceManage site financial metrics including profit and loss and budgets

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred5+ years of relevant experience preferredPrior leadership experience requiredStrong written and verbal communication skillsInventory planning and processing experience preferredStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel preferredExperience working within ERP’s (SAP or Manhattan) preferred

Anticipated salary range: $85,100 - $121,600
