What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.

Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

The Transportation Procurement team is responsible for the development of network-wide pharmaceutical service purchasing strategy and deployment. They oversee all transportation procurement execution, carrier onboarding, budgeting activities, and benchmarking projects. This team procures services for a network that delivers the highest levels of reliability, speed, and cost while ensuring financial structures remain best in class.
 

Responsibilities

Manage a team of direct reportsBuild, enable, and drive multi-year strategy both within direct scope as well as for the Transportation organization Leads the development of contracts and business rules to achieve specific goals in logisticsDevelops new practices, processes, metrics, or modelsLead large meetings with executive stakeholdersCollaborate cross-functionally and liaise with internal and/or external stakeholders, including senior leaders Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred8-12 years of experience preferredSupply Chain Certification (i.e. APICS) preferredExperience with SAP, JDA, Manhattan preferredExperience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau preferredStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office productsMulti-modal domestic transportation background preferredWorking knowledge of logistics management technologies

Anticipated salary range: $85,100 - $127,680
