What does Supply Chain Product Management contribute to Cardinal Health:
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Supply Chain Product Management is responsible for identifying, recommending, designing and implementing new solutions for the Supply Chain organization including new technology features, practices, processes, metrics or models. Supply Chain Product Management develops the strategic vision, supporting business case, and financials for new products. Manages project timelines and budgets.
Driving Customer/ Client Needs:
Requires knowledge of: Customer and business problems as well as dependencies and impacts on product processes and ways of working. Employ tactics like: Journey mapping; Process optimization. Can utilize communication and influencing techniques to build and maintain consistent relationships with customers and proactively identify customer needs. Create scalable processes to gather and analyze customer experiences that demonstrate a deep understanding of customer needs to make decisions. Coaches team members to improve focus on the customer. Has deep understanding of domain-specific methodologies, tools, processes, products, best practices, and terminologies within that domain. Identifies areas of innovation across the domain, recommends new processes, automation opportunities, and ways of working and drives the execution of the business plans and projects to deliver the benefits.
Product Roadmap and Development:
Requires knowledge of: Product roadmap development techniques and presentation to develop and own roadmaps across a complex product. Ensures and drives communication for internal and external stakeholders. Interfaces with and influences partners to secure resources and alignment. Mentors team members on product roadmap and development. Establishes product roadmap expectations, performance measures, and goals. Manages roll out and scaling (using an MLP approach) of complex products/features.
Product Vision and Strategy:
Requires knowledge of: Problem formulation and solutioning to own a complex customer problem and/or product requirement/need, as well as upstream and downstream impacts. Build new ideas and strategies using Product Development concepts. Identifies new/uncharted areas for value creation. Can independently articulate problem statements and define success metrics (for example, key performance indicators). Promotes product strategies and vision to stakeholders. Drives "Go-to-Market" strategies to ensure mass adoption.
Influencing and Building Stakeholder Consensus:
Requires knowledge of: Application of business communication styles/techniques in ambiguous and challenging situations including situational awareness, communication channels/mediums, interpersonal skills and universal relationship building. Capability to communicate in stakeholders in meetings involving multiple teams. Can convey complex information and addresses ambiguity for robust technology development and influence team members and stakeholders with sound recommendations. Can independently prepare clear, concise, and logically structured materials and seeks and provides constructive feedback, anticipates needs/questions, and responds appropriately.
Technology Orientation:
Requires knowledge of: Competitive technology landscapes, existing portfolio of enterprise systems, technologies, services, and architecture. Is fluent in emerging technology and industry trends in product and technology innovation. Utilizes this information to drive business and user acceptance testing for complex products and the adoption of new and emerging technologies. Possesses an understanding of complete systems architecture, services involved, and the database and cloud technologies used and demonstrates awareness of system architectural principles.
