What Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.

The Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.

Job Summary
The Manager, Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing manages inventory and over the counter products. This job maintains communication with sales team, clients, distributors, and suppliers to negotiate/renew contracts. This job also manages data entry activities and integrity of databases including products, suppliers, and pricing list. This job occasionally supervises registration of new products to comply with regulations. The Manager, Supply Chain Inventory and Purchasing also manages a team of professionals by setting performance goals, monitoring performance, developing skills, and helping them to be successful.

Responsibilities

Manages a team of professionals by setting individual and department goals, monitoring performance, developing skills, and helping them to be successful.Manages inventory of various products and maintains communication with sales team, clients, distributors, and suppliers.Manages data entry activities and integrity of databases including products, suppliers, and pricing list.Negotiates distribution service agreements and manages special projects (example – new warehouse sourcing and implication).Critical position responsible for managing a team of ten and Brand product inventory levels.Team: 2 Supervisor (M1) and 10 Senior Supply Chain Analysts (P2).Responsible for $6B in Brand Pharmaceutical inventory across 22 Distribution Centers.Accountable for primary metrics of DIOH, Supplier on Time Fill Rate, and Service level: adjusted and unadjusted.Analyzes brand inventory levels and is able to explain to Inventory leadership and Finance why inventory has increased or significantly decreased month over month.Hold team accountable to metrics and work closely with Sourcing to ensure team buys within DSA/Inventory guardrails.Work with Sourcing and Operations to reduce overstock inventory.Analyzes root cause of problems and Brand product data to ensure team is taking ownership and effectively managing the purchase order life cycle (PO creation to receipt).Assist team with many new suppliers, new item launches and some supply disruption work.Communicates daily, weekly, and monthly brand product highlights and issues to management and escalates appropriately to ensure quick resolutions to issues.Participate and/or leads projects and independently manage project milestones to completion to improve department workflow.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience3-5 years of inventory/end to end Supply Chain concepts preferred1-3 years of experience leading a team of hourly and/or salaried employees preferredLean knowledge and Operational Excellence project creation and participationStrong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze data trends with the use of reporting tools (ex. Business Objects, Access) and initiate action from findingsSense of urgency, attention to detail and accountabilityExperience with purchasing systems preferred (SCORE, SAP, Vistex, etc.)Experience conducting fact-based negotiations to positively impact Cardinal Health and its customersAbility to build strong collaborative relationships, communicates effectively, and influences outcomes for internal and external customersStrong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to identify and meet milestonesIdentify and drive improvements using root cause critical thinking skillsConsiders all risks and possibilities and proactively generates creative solutions

Anticipated salary range: $82,200 - $117,400
