Job Summary
The Manager, Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing manages inventory and over the counter products. This job maintains communication with sales team, clients, distributors and suppliers to negotiate/renew contracts. This job also manages data entry activities and integrity of databases including products, suppliers and pricing list. This job occasionally supervises registration of new products to comply with regulations. The role also manages a team of professionals by setting performance goals, monitoring performance, developing skills and helping them to be successful.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing a team to plan optimal inventory position and deliver best customer service level in support of our Major/Rugby/Cardinal Assist & Bulk-up programs (~2,000 items across all portfolios with sales of $330M)Work with re-packagers to assist with planning, provide visibility, shipments, and track performance. There is a manufacturing component to this role.Accountable for primary metrics of Demand and Supply Planning, Service Level, In Stock, Minimizing overstock, slow moving, and Reserve DollarsEnsure team is taking ownership and properly managing the purchase order life cycle.Organizational skills to help team prioritize projects; item launches or switches, Supplier deals, Private Label product repackaging, customer needs, & Optimal Stocking Strategy work, etc.Participate and/or leads projects to completion to improve department workflow and efficiency.Partner with business unit and corporate cross functional team on implementing a successful S&OP planning process and support. Collaboration with all Major/Rugby, Assist, & Bulk-up leadership, Commercial, and Sales teamsResponsible for ensuring there is a planning/purchasing software SME responsible for testing and implementation of all features and configurations to deliver financial and service level goals.Advocate, with ability to articulate, the need for future Purchasing/Planning or Analytics system upgrades or integrations.Ownership and management of Inventory Health (collaborate Sourcing and Commercial teams) to ensure managing inventory levels appropriately and aware of the impacts on cash flow.Key partner in development and communication of Re-packager Score CardsAnalyzes root cause of problems and product data to ensure team is taking ownership and effectively managing the purchase order life cycle (PO creation to receipt).Communicates daily, weekly, and monthly team highlights and issues to management and escalates appropriately to ensure quick resolution.Participate and/or leads projects and independently manage project milestones to completion to improve department workflow.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. MBA, preferred.4-8 years of inventory/end to end Supply Chain knowledge and Planning experience preferred.3 years’+ experience leading a team preferred.Inspiring/positive leader that can motivate a team to work hard for them.A leader that also has technical abilities to identify the things we can automate and/or who to talk to in our Decision Science, Advanced Analytics teams.Lean knowledge and Operational Excellence project creation and participationStrong analytical skills and proven ability to analyze data trends with the use of reporting tools (ex. Business Objects, Access) and initiate action from findings.Sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to jump in to help the team with detailed buying work when necessary.Experience with manufacturing & purchasing systems preferred (Mapics, DF&IO, SCORE, SAP etc.).Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, communicates effectively, and influences outcomes for internal and external customers.Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to identify and meet milestone.Identify and drive improvements using root cause problem solving skills.Considers all risks and possibilities and proactively generates creative solutions.
Anticipated salary range: $85,100 - $127,680
