The position | candidate would be accountable to build pricing processes and controls for Cardinal Health International Medical business. The position is expected to develop, communicate, and lead the execution of pricing strategies in sync with the business / category strategy and customer profitability through pricing and value-capturing activities at both the strategic and tactical levels. 

The role is both strategic and tactical and would require the ability to shift mindset between the two levels of performance equally required. The manager would have the ability to leverage analytics, pricing concepts & principles, and technology to manage a wide variety of pricing initiatives and margin improvement projects. 

This role needs talent who has a passion to understand new business models, product strategy, while getting their hands into data analysis and analytics, and then be comfortable in presenting their thought process to all levels of business leadership.  High exposure and high accountability should be expected.

The position would be responsible for applying quantitative methodologies, techniques, and tools to develop best in class analytical solutions that would help improve business performance and drive revenue management initiatives. Position would need to work with stakeholders to identify business opportunities, goals, and objectives; and develop hypothesis as to how to leverage analytics to drive results.

Role Accountabilities –

Develop revenue management | pricing strategies for the product portfolio that would maximize profitability, and pricing is market competitive working with a cross-functional team.

Develop and implement pricing performance indicators and diagnostics to identify potential pricing opportunities, measure impact of pricing decisions, and track performance of pricing initiatives.

Develop and deliver tools and training to help drive understanding and execution of key pricing and profitability concepts.

Able to apply advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of pricing initiatives and projects.

Need to identify key data requirements, acquires data, and cleans data for use in statistical analysis; apply data visualization techniques to evaluate the data and showcase business model outputs etc.

Build custom quantitative models by applying advanced statistical methods such as causal and predictive modeling, forecasting, data mining, simulation, and/or optimization.

Demonstrates the ability to interpret results of quantitative models, identify trends and issues, and develop alternatives to support business objectives.

Act as key revenue management | strategic pricing liaison for several cross-functional teams, including Product Marketing, FP&A, Commercial – Sales & Contracts, Pricing Operations, and IT.

Demonstrate ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences and mediums, including through dashboards and other data visualization techniques.

Qualifications / Skills Required –

Master’s in Business | Economics | Math | Analytical Sciences or equivalent work experience is required.

A minimum of five + years of professional experience in advanced analytics, strategic pricing | revenue management is required.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to display quantitative information in charts, build power point presentations and other forms visual enhancements to the data.

Ability to manipulate and extract data and information from multiple internal and external sources and leverage data mining to gather key insights to drive business decisions and improve business performance.

Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, hierarchical models, etc.) Familiarity with Bayesian techniques a plus

Must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to propose actions, identify and illustrate opportunities, make recommendations, and articulate financial impacts of decisions to colleagues at all levels of technical ability and expertise.

Data management – SQL | Advanced Excel | VBA and data manipulation skills required. Knowledge of R, Tableau, Python, Alteryx will be a plus.

Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, collaborate on projects, and communicate insights effectively to multiple levels of an organization.
