Key Responsibilities Include:Provide leadership on maturing data management capabilities with focus on data governance & data qualityAct as a strong change leader to drive adoption of data management best practices and policiesEducates business and technical communities on the purpose and value of data governanceLead/Manage internal team and external partners on multiple projects & initiatives concurrentlyProvide leadership and guidance to teamTake action to reduce risks, mitigate issue and ensure delivery meets timelines and budgetDrive data accountability through identification of data roles (e.g., data owners)Build strong stakeholder connections and trust within the businessDrives change management and prioritize communicationsSupport the domain / subdomain owners with Governance Playbook activitiesEnsure identification, prioritization and measurement of critical data elementsDocument metadata and lineageParticipate in and help prioritize remediation effortsPromote data literacy and maturityFacilitate governance community meetingsCollaborates with business leadership to promote solutions that optimize business valueWorks across business units and IT to align governance and business strategies.
What Data Governance contributes to Cardinal Health
Data Governance is responsible for the disciplined execution of governance programs and practices across all data.Applies knowledge and ability to define and/or operate against the vision/strategy of data and governance.Demonstrates an understanding of data governance modeling, tools, and practices.Identifies and manages data quality in alignment with the needs of the business and/or industry.Ensures complete protection of data with all policies as it relates to visibility and distribution.Identifies and communicates insights and potential upstream/downstream impacts and opportunities to customers, business and/or enterprise leaders.Exemplifies effective communication and change management skills to varying audiences.
QualificationsBachelors Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience8+ years experience in related field preferredAnalytical & Word Processing: Must demonstrate command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook), preferredPresentation: must demonstrate clear, concise articulation of proposed actions, illustrating opportunity, alternatives, recommendation and associated economics, preferredKnowledge and experience in core data management best practicesKnowledge and understanding of the sales, customer service, and overall order to cash business processes preferredExperience in developing data management rules, standards and business policiesExperience in stakeholder, organizational and change managementAbility to organize and manage multiple priorities and achieve resultsAbility to interact with all levels of an organization, including senior leadership/management
