What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Ability to handle multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlinesAbility to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 poundsAbility to frequently read written documents and use a computer monitor screenAssists in conducting new-hire orientationPerforms temperature monitoring and calibration checksSupports Safety Performance Indicators and safety initiativesEnsuring that Cardinal Health's principles, policies, and procedures are consistently practicedLeading and motivating the warehouse worker team to achieve productivity and quality goalsCoordinating workflow to accomplish overall business objectives (i.e, picking, packing and shipping,  cage/vault, RX & OTC, case picking, and housekeeping)Filling-in for others and performing functional tasks daily where/when necessaryHandling general employee inquiries and solves routine problems within scope of the position, referring more complex problems to the next level supervisorMaintaining positive employee relationsPromoting a team environment and facilitates process improvementSupporting the shift supervisor and provides input for performance appraisals of warehouse employeesWorking closely with other leads and supervisors within the facility to promote teamworkProviding assistance in the training and development of new hires and retraining of employeesActive accountability for self and others regarding Cardinal Health values and leadership essentials


Qualifications

2+ years Lead or Supervisor experience in a fast-paced work environmentExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and follow through skillsMust be able to provide proven track record for team accountability, mentoring and coaching, improving team performance, improving productivity and quality, promoting safe work practices, and facility housekeepingLean Six Sigma experience preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred, College degree highly preferredProficient in math and reading skillsProficient experience using Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. AS400 experience preferredSelf-initiates to foster development and process improvement in all areas and across team boundaries
